Of all the schools in the Greater Toledo area, Maumee Valley Country Day School remains the choice for parents and students who value depth and meaning, experience and understanding, diversity and tolerance. We were the first and still are the only independent, non-religious, co-educational, pre-Kindergarten through twelfth grade, college prep school in the region.
The history of Maumee Valley has been characterized by bold innovation and strategic risk taking. It’s a legacy we must continue to build on to guarantee our promise for future generations. To do so, we need your help.
Maumee Valley has consistently stayed in step with the times or a step ahead of them. From its origin in 1884 as the region’s premier girls school in the Old West End, to its progressive embrace of the Country Day School concept and relocation, to its current 70-acre site on Reynolds Road in 1937, to a continuous string of improvements throughout the 20th Century, Maumee Valley has constantly evolved.
But the school’s founders and past leaders could not have imagined how technology, political change and economic policy would shrink our world especially at the dizzying pace of the last decade.
Now, the time has come to make further courageous decisions. Now, we must take the steps to ensure that our students are prepared to lead in a new global society, where we live under one roof with the whole world. It’s a new legacy we must commit to today.
