Maumee Valley Country Day School exists for one purpose: offers every child the means to discover and develop his or her strengths and passions, enabling them to become enlightened, compassionate and contributing citizens of our global community.

Those individual strengths and passions, once ignited, create an incredibly powerful catalyst for building knowledge, for finding fulfilling employment, for giving back, and for enjoying every day.

But the means to develop each child’s self-discovery evolves with the times. Today, more than ever, we’re connected to the entire world. Students can tap into information from around the globe – in the classroom, at home or even walking down the street.

The advantages and synergies of that connectivity should be engrained at Maumee Valley. In our current campus environment, however, that simply isn’t the case.

We have a vision that will help us connect with each other in vital, new ways and offer more powerful resources to connect with the world. This vision entails:

  • Creating a new Upper School building with more flexible space and state-of-the-art technology.
  • Renovating the Smead Building for Pre-School and Kindergarten.
  • Connecting all buildings on campus with an enclosed walkway – safe from the elements, under one roof.

Of course, connecting with each other and with the world takes more than contemporary facilities. It requires tangible support at the human level, enhancing our faculty, student aid and global learning opportunities. So we also propose to grow in these areas:

  • Endowment to provide faculty enrichment grants – To pay competitive salaries for the most creative and devoted teachers, and invest in ongoing faculty training, including opportunities to study abroad for true globalization.
  • Endowment to increase scholarship aid – A necessity to foster ethnic, social and economic diversity through a greater number of Merit Scholarships.
  • Endowment to support global education – Enabling an authentic global perspective through significant foreign travel experiences, exchange programs and foreign studies.
